While I could certainly see Satan as the worst case of all personality types, I’m not so sure Satan would be so coy about his end goals. I definitely see the draw to Satan-as-deceiver description. The more insidious view of Satan is that of one who explains exactly who they and what their goals are, and yet remains persuasive in their argument. The thinker in me is more scared of being persuaded by Satan than by being tricked.

Then again, I’ve heard it said that Satan’s greatest trick is to make folks believe he never existed at all, which lends more credence to the Deceiver interpretation. Technically, I belong to to the group that believes he doesn’t exist at all. But have I been deceived into this dis/belief? Or am I further convinced of belief that Satan does exist and I buy his arguments?

Either way, I’m probably going to Hell, if it exists. And I’m okay with that. Ultimately, I’m staking my salvation on the fact that there is no Hell for me to saved from. I can’t worship a God that would do such a thing, so maybe I’ve already bought into Satan’s arguments.

Yet another white dude with yet another opinion. Is that opinion founded in Wisdom? I don't know, you tell me.
