Truth! Preach it! Oh wait, I’m in the choir and likely not having my mind changed because I already agree totally… so, I guess the algorithm is still functioning as designed.

My question is, how do “we”, the consumers, break the algorithm? I’m an elder millennial and loathe engaging in social media to begin with, so perhaps I don’t understand what is within my power as an end-user. But it sounds to me, from what you described, that the onus to change the algorithm is on the platform developers themselves and certainly they are the most able to make the changes. However, I highly doubt there is any motivation to do so. They’re still corporations beholden to shareholders and the almighty bottom-line.

If there is anything within my power to break the algorithms, I’d love to know how! Hell, I might even begin to engage with more social media if knew how I could flip off the powers that be while burning their algorithms to dust!

Let’s start an online insurrection against the algorithm! Let’s break the matrix/simulation!

Yet another white dude with yet another opinion. Is that opinion founded in Wisdom? I don't know, you tell me.
