Too true! When I finally found a therapist who understood ADHD in both child and adult forms, the difference in what I got out of therapy was substantial. At first, it was a huge relief just have my feelings and thought processes validated. Then came the actual suggestions and behavioral techniques that have helped improve my situation. But mostly the validation was key to unloading a lot of shame and guilt that I was carrying around for “not being enough”, as I constantly saw myself.

Still working out the kinks, but I imagine that I’ll be doing that for the rest of my life, because no one truly has it “ all together”, even NT folk. But finding the right therapist has been key to many improvements I’ve made in my life recently.

Yet another white dude with yet another opinion. Is that opinion founded in Wisdom? I don't know, you tell me.
