This definitely should be talked about! Although it’s not going to change until the majority of Christians take a stand against these false teachers. It won’t change until a wedge is driven between the ideologies of “Christianity” and nationalism. It won’t change until the fear of the unknown and the other is replaced with trust in God and compassion.

I personally gave up the label of Christian decades ago when I began my philosophy and religious studies in college. I’ve always questioned things, even as a child and teenager growing up in the Southern Baptist church. Once I came to the conclusion, for myself, that Jesus wasn’t any more divine than the rest of us and that God and truth could be found in all things (not just in the Trinity doctrine or the “good book”), I realized it would be dishonest of me to continue to call myself a Christian.

I still consider myself a disciple of Jesus, but I also consider myself a disciple of Buddha, Krishna, and the Tao. Over the decades since I’ve made this stance, I’ve realized that my decision was also a political one. As a white male, I gave up a portion of my privilege by distancing myself from the Christian religion. Oh darn, I’ll never be able to run my own Chick-fil-A… guess I should’ve thought about that before I became a self-avowed heretic 😂

Yet another white dude with yet another opinion. Is that opinion founded in Wisdom? I don't know, you tell me.
