The “illusion of balance”… I like that you put it that way. I think people misunderstand what “balance” means. Too often we think it means an exact 50/50 split between two mutually exclusive options. But the moon teaches us a different lesson. Sometimes it’s waxing, sometimes waning. It teaches us balance in motion, which is only 50/50 twice a month.
All that to say basically what you said in your article. Sometimes you have to shift your priorities and activities around as needed. You can’t stay on 100% on one activity. That would be like the moon staying full all the time. If we don’t/can’t expect that from the moon (or any natural rhythm or cycle) how can we expect ourselves to operate like that?
