Some people always got shit to say, but don’t have the ovaries to step up and do anything else with their lives.

I highlighted this statement because Angel is definitely doing her ancestors proud. I’m sure Angel will only grow stronger from this experience. Which is bad news for these haters who are gonna FAFO what real strength looks like.

The raw power of a black woman is formidable. I know because I’m married to a black woman. I hesitate to say it that way, because she’s way more than “just a black woman” to me (she’s a human being *gasp*) but I’ve learned (yes I had to learn this) that her blackness is an integral part of who she is and I love all parts of her.

I can’t claim to know the experience of black women, or even understand it on a personal level. But there are these things called listening, compassion, and empathy that can help one get quite far in understanding another’s situation.
