Quite interesting! You’ve explained why my dna ancestry shows up as more Anatolian/Turkic than “Greek”, as I am a second generation descendant of a Greek immigrant to the US. Which makes a lot of sense, since the Levant has been a “melting pot” of sorts for millennia.
I also find interesting your argument that religious partisanship and dogmatism is a relatively new phenomenon. I wonder how much of that is due to hindsight of looking back over centuries. I mean, just look at how much Christianity had changed over the past two hundred years. I would dare say its modern incarnation in evangelicalism would be nearly unrecognizable to a Christian of 500/1000/2000 years ago. And it will continue to change. I will definitely be on the lookout for this book you wrote this for. I always love fresh takes! Thank you!
