Precisely why I am no longer affiliated with the Republican Party. I’ve voted Democrat in most of the past decade, but I wouldn’t consider myself liberal either. However, I ignore all pleas from the Democratic Party asking me for money.

I’ve long felt neither party truly represents my interests, or the interests of the public at large. Even if there may be individuals with whom I agree and support, neither party as a whole has a vision for America that I can 100% get behind. I suppose that’s all for the better. It would be arrogant of me to think that I know what America should be for all of its citizens. That’s why we have different voices.

If only those in places of power would also practice this same humility, maybe we could actually build something beautiful.
