Not every branch produces fruit, but does that make the tree any less beautiful?
I actually applaud your honesty, thoughtfulness, and many olive branches you passed to us voluntary-childless-adults. I fully recognize the privilege of my decision (thus far) to not procreate. I am open to whatever may happen though. Your analysis on the stages of life and lessons learned is an interesting argument that I haven’t heard often, so thank you for that breath of fresh air!
I feel the key is choice. And as much as we may idealize choice as a basic human right, I fear we ought better to view it as a hard won privilege. I believe as long as we all make (and are allowed to make) the best choices we can for ourselves, then collectively we’ll all be okay.
