I’ve always been intrigued by 1 and 0. Not just because 1’s and 0’s form the basis of Boolean algebra and all of our digital stuff, but also because of all the weirdness around 0 in linear algebra.

As a teenager and young college student, I contemplated what, if any meaning beyond mathematics these numbers may have. I know I’m bordering on Neo-Platonism here but in my mind, they represent the absolute limits of anything. 0 is a symbol for pure no-thing, while 1 represents some-thing, anything, and/or everything. It takes both the conceptualize infinity, because anything infinite must logically include its negation.

Yet another white dude with yet another opinion. Is that opinion founded in Wisdom? I don't know, you tell me.
