I’m not surprised that you see it too. Your intellect is far too piercing to not see it. I remember telling close friends and family, back in 2016, that I don’t think Americans want a democracy anymore. I’ve only been proven right time and time again ever since.

It is scary how much our modern world resembles that of late-19th century Europe, as I was made aware of by reading Hannah Arendt’s “The Origins of Totalitarianism”. There is a blatant hypocrisy of liberalism. No one cares anymore. Certainly not those with any power or wealth. The rest of us are stuck on our hamster wheels. Some of us actually realize we’re on the wheels, while others are actually buying into the lies.

I agree wholeheartedly. Perhaps Trump is the president we deserve. Perhaps the ones to survive the chaos of the next few decades will have learned an all too painful lesson. Then again, probably not. We apparently didn’t learn anything from two world wars. Why should this century be any different?
