I’ll join the choir of folks praising your writing and resolve. I was certainly drawn in by your words, so well done! I don’t think you’re giving up, just being honest with your current emotional/cognitive bandwidth and experimenting with different priorities. You don’t have to explain that to anyone! However I do understand not even wanting to be in a position to need to explain. You sound like a nice person and you can’t just sit there after someone’s head exploded without at least trying to put some the pieces together for them. I get it. But at some level, it’s their head and their responsibility if/when it explodes when encountering something so far “outside the box” as dieting didn’t work for you. This is your life. You can’t be moved except by that which you allow yourself to be moved… and earthquakes and hurricane force winds, but ya know, we all gotta deal with forces of nature like that.
