If you’re looking for some research material and haven’t already read it, Karl Popper’s “The Open Society…” may pique your interests. In that book, he eviscerates Plato and the Platonic tradition as being authoritarian propaganda. He then does the same/similar with Hegel and Marx. Given the wide historical scope of the book and the similarities he draws between the three thinkers and their acolytes, I think it would be a good one to check out!

I like the idea of exploring the impact of certain historical thoughts and figures through the lens of “What if…?” alternative narratives. Very interesting indeed! Thank you!
