I wonder how they think that would work. I’ve lived most of my life in the “Bible Belt”, Southern US. I’ve lived in and visited many small rural towns. Down here, there seems to be a church on every corner. Most towns have at least three, usually many more, churches.

Soooo…. Who gets to take over? Is it the First or Second Baptist Church of Podunkville? Do we let in those weirdos from the First Methodist congregation? Do we form a coalition? What about all of the disparate black congregations in the various Zion something or other Missionary Baptist churches that you never allowed to come to the First Baptist Church of Hatred MS? Will those congregations be allowed a voice in the takeover?

You spoke a truth, Dan, in your last line “try conquering yourself”. It echoes one of my favorite lines from Lao Tzu, “Mastering another is power. Mastering yourself is true strength.”
