I respect your opinion and the facts you used to develop said opinion. But I remain unconvinced. Beyond the basic advice of knowing oneself and your limitations/addictions, your argument to put down the bong just doesn’t hold water, especially to the addicted.

Any experienced and older smoker knows the ups and downs of addiction, the relative strengths and effects of different strains, as well the varied and individual responses that different people have to marijuana. They know the the dangers and risks, the highs and lows, and judge the highs to be worth it, at least for them.

What if I just want to enjoy life and marijuana is one of the many ways in which I do so? So what if I choose my addiction to marijuana over an addiction to productivity or success? I know from experience as well as logic that marijuana is not for everyone.

This is the flaw I see in your argument. You assume that everyone is as addicted to productivity and success as you are. You assume that these cultural and societal “worth markers” are the same for everyone. I challenge that premise, and conclude that being a pot head is a valid personal choice.

However… I do concede that public smells of weed smoke is not ideal. But I see that as personal failure to be polite. It is rude push your smells on people who wish not to smell them. Smoke in private. Think of others. If you must travel, seal that shit up with some incense or something. It’s just common courtesy!
