I recently left an admittedly snarky comment on a response, which is uncharacteristic of me. I typically try to understand where the other person is coming from, start there, and slightly nudge one way or another to hopefully expand perception of the topic or thought. I know that’s a losing prospect in many cases, but as another responder said, maybe someone will read it. Maybe someone is wondering “is everyone crazy?” and a counter response may help them hold on to what little faith in humanity they have left. Maybe… probably not though. But as easy as it is to leave a comment, why not try?

So that author that I engaged blocked me and deleted the responses (which I didn’t know you could do on Medium?). I wasn’t offensive or calling names, but I probably did insult their intelligence via sarcastic reference to their “superior intellect”. I’m not surprised that they blocked me, but maybe I am a little disappointed, definitely not angry with them. I’ll let it go and treat it as a lesson learned.

Snarky comments aren’t the way to go. Who knew? 😂

Yet another white dude with yet another opinion. Is that opinion founded in Wisdom? I don't know, you tell me.
