I highlighted a few lines in this article but the last two regarding mystery are highly important to me and the topic that you are addressing.
I do not claim to be Christian for many of the reasons that you describe here. I honestly faced the mystery and came to different conclusions, but I’m happy that you came to your conclusions. I do claim to be a disciple of Jesus, but as a human and teacher rather than divinity in human form (at least no more divine than any other thing is; I believe in a pantheistic version of divinity).
This last highlighted quote, to which I’m responding directly, strikes at the heart of my non-dualistic beliefs. There is a logic of pluralism in non-dualistic beliefs, a radical acceptance of paradox, a direct refutation of the logical law of non-contradiction. If there is Truth, then it cannot be defined, cannot be made certain. Any definition necessarily limits and chops up Truth into smaller truths, which are never universally/divinely True in themselves.
I could say more on “revelation”, but I think I’ve said enough. Great job by the way! I love your honesty and humility! Christianity will be fine as long as there are more Christians like you. 😃
