I hear you and feel you. Cis-gendered, tall and relatively healthy/attractive white male here. I agree with some other commenters here that we are not obligated to give up our privilege, this is true. But, I would argue it wouldn’t hurt to give up a little.

There are a million little ways that we can go out of our way to build someone less privileged up. Then again, searching out opportunities to do so, could appear inauthentic, so I usually just go about my business and wait for them to arise naturally. I know I’m being vague, but we’re all human and know what another human being in distress or a bad situation looks like.

As for the haters? They don’t define you. You define you. Your actions define you. You know this already though, as you seem intelligent and aware of your own power. Keep up the good work and making a stand where you can! The best we can do is to continue to be examples of the best human beings we can be.
