I don’t believe we will ever evolve into the transhumanist vision. The reason is because it is too focused on the primacy of humanity. Our genetic code is not special. There is nothing sacred about human life beyond our own valuing of it. This, I believe, is the humility that you speak of, which is sorely lacking in too many visions of the future.

If we can extend the sanctity of human life to encompass all life, and note our unique place in that web while also recognizing and respecting the unique place all life in the web… Then maybe we’ll be able to evolve into something “super human”.
