I agree wholeheartedly! The “hard problem” is just an artifact of our wayward thinking and philosophizing on the topic of consciousness. We seek to explain the very basis and ground of all explanations. It’s circular for a reason, necessarily so. Consciousness can’t exist without self-recursive loops, something must be able to conceptualize itself as itself to be conscious of anything else that’s not-self. The “illusion” of self is necessary for a being to be conscious.
I believe if there’s any explanation of consciousness to be had, it’s going to come from the embodied cognition perspective. We have to treat the whole organism as adding to the experience of consciousness. It’s not going to be found solely in the brain.
