How dare you reference the Merriam-Webster dictionary in a serious theological debate! Please take that with all the sarcasm intended lol

Seriously though, you make a good point about worship. To be frank, I’ve rarely felt that awe in any evangelical church. Maybe that’s why I no longer go, among many other reasons. Also in the spirit of frankness, I feel more awe and gratitude while drinking a great cup of coffee than I do while singing “praise” lyrics posted up on a projector screen. Not sure if that says more about my addiction to caffeine or the quality of most “worship” services I’ve experienced.

You correctly point out that worship is a mindset, one that is directed away from self and towards the divine. I feel we can and should have that mindset for longer than just one hour a week. We should live it. Sure, even while sipping on coffee. It’s great to be alive and experience such pleasures. It should be easy to do while experiencing pleasure. Can we do the same when the bombs are raining down and our families are suffering? That’s the real test of worship and awe. Can we feel utterly alive and grateful to God for allowing us to be alive and breathing and, hopefully, serving someone other than ourselves?

Oh btw, the Swifties are coming 🧐

Yet another white dude with yet another opinion. Is that opinion founded in Wisdom? I don't know, you tell me.
