Great job Benjamin! You put the pieces of the puzzle together quite nicely! We are indeed in a “adapt or die/fade away” situation. The search for inner wisdom and discipline is too often scoffed at and pushed to the sidelines, as you said.
It may be rather soon to say for certain if the humanistic worldview wins out, as you’ve described it as human vs nature. What I think/hope I see happening is more of an evolution of that “vs” mentality into more of an “us” mentality. And then include more and more things into what we consider “us”, and less things that we set ourselves apart and against.
This seems, at least to me, to be the stance taken by the ancient sages towards nature. But then that eventually becomes not a humanistic worldview, but more of a wholistic one? I’m sure there’s an “official” name or some expert with that view… 🤷♂️
