Good luck convincing your doctor that you need to stop. I stopped taking my statin without their approval. After losing weight and adjusting my diet, my cholesterol levels normalized. There was no more need to take it. Yet they insisted that I continue despite there being no apparent need and saying that the decreased cholesterol was proof it was working. Well, 5 years later, the weight is still off, the cholesterol is still down, I’m still not taking a statin, and I’m slowly crawling out of the mess of cognitive decline I experienced (with all of the meds and their side effects that I took to cover up/deal with it)
I’d rather have a heart attack than face cognitive decline. Call me crazy! Advocate for your own health and trust your gut! Listen to your doctor and give their treatments a chance, but you know how you feel better than their blood tests. They’re operating from a point of view of statistics, but an individual is not a statistic.
