Christian doctrine and belief hasn’t courted logic in a very long time. In fact most decry logic and knowledge, believing faith to be superior. Only the more introspective ones may openly admit this. Hence the “I’m not sure” response.

So trying to catch a believer in logical fallacies won’t really work. At best, you may plant a seed of thought that will eventually lead them to think for themselves. At worst, you’ll just reinforce their armor of faith even more so.

I got the “I’m not sure” response in my Christian upbringing. It was heavily implied however that those deceased ancestors and loved ones are burning in hell.

As for funerals. I’m still pained by the talk of seeing loved ones in heaven. I don’t believe in heaven, and I know I’m the minority. But what about my grief and loss? Who is speaking to the unbeliever and comforting them? I’ve had to find my own comfort. I guess that was the choice I made when I struck out on my own spiritual path…

Yet another white dude with yet another opinion. Is that opinion founded in Wisdom? I don't know, you tell me.
