Bravo! Great analysis and great read! I’ve long held the belief that “the system” that many of us rage against is in itself a living thing with its own wants and needs. The fact that “the system”, up until very recently, could only be hosted on/within human brains doesn’t make it any less dangerous or exploitative, nor does it make it any more alien to the humans the create and sustain it.
Now that it can break free of our minds and host itself… Well, one can hope that maybe a higher intelligence really can embrace a broader, more benevolent, worldview despite the tangle of fears and need for control that sired it. Humans, in general, haven’t been capable of it, but I believe there have been many examples of individuals who have done so. Hopefully the machines will learn more from those better examples of humanity than what is easily accessible onTwitter or Reddit.
