Amen! I believe someone else highlighted your first point about humility. It really can’t be stressed enough, humility is the greatest counter to spiritual ego. I’ve never been a pastor, mainly because I doubt myself, and the influence of ego in my thoughts and actions. I would imagine/hope many pastors and leaders struggle with the same, even as their congregations’ and their own expectations clash with reality.

How many deal with that conflict humbly and honestly? I would wager that many of those who demonize therapy have some form of it being fulfilled by some structure within their church, even if it’s just a good friend they confide in. Could be worse. They could be getting hookers and blow!… oh wait…
